Who May Join the I.P.A.  -  How Does One Join?

 

Qualifications for Membership:

Membership in the United States Section of the International Police Association is open to any qualified active or retired law enforcement officer from any recognized federal, state, or local agency, meeting the requirement criteria as established by the United States Section Bylaws.

Membership is open to all active serving or retired sworn members of a duly organized local, city, state or federal law enforcement agency or department, who are or were employed full time in the enforcement of the general criminal laws of their state, or of the federal government.

If retired, retirement must be based upon 20 or more years of service, or be of a disability nature.

Membership is obtainable by all qualified individuals regardless of rank, gender, ethnicity, nationality, or creed.

Members of the Military Police from any of the branches of the Armed Forces of the U.S. Government are not eligible for membership in the IPA.

Status will be verified with the appropriate agency.

How Do I Join?

First. Check to make sure that you meet the qualifications for membership. 

Second. Fill out the Region 62 application for membership.

  • Make sure that you submit all requested information, and that the information is legible and complete.

  • Make sure that you sign form where required.

  • Include your check in the amount of $25, payable to the International Police Association.

  • Include a copy of both sides of your law enforcement I.D.  As an alternative, you may have the application certified by a current member of the IPA region you wish to join.  Actually, you can even do both and see haw fast we can work to get it confirmed, verified, approved, and your membership items to you. 

Third. Mail the application, your check, and a copy of the required ID to the address on the application form.
