Regional Activities, News, and Announcements |

Region 62 participates in a variety of activities. We usually meet in the Fairfax County, Virginia area and have been meeting in several different venues. All IPA members, their families, guests, and all qualified prospective members (active and retired law enforcement officers) are always welcome to come and join us. Meetings will be announced as scheduled.
Next scheduled meetings:
Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 1830 (6:30 pm). Perhaps an alternate date. Dennis is working on an activity! Stay tuned!
Dennis and Diane will be back from Florida, refreshed, tan, and full of new plans and lots of stories of their adventures.
AS most of you know Region 62 and Region 7 have officially merged. We have a number of visitors arriving during March, April, and May. Police Week will soon be here. National could use some assistance in manning the IPA booth in DC and we also have some housing requests that you should all be aware of via our e-mails.
If you have not renewed ~ OR ~ if you have not provided a valid e-mail address we cannot communicate easily. I have just prepared a new directory of combined members but there are many gaps and many bad e-mail addresses (and too many non renewals).
I will be sending out a test e-mail message shortly. Contact me if you do not hear from the grumpy cyber gremlin aka Region 62 webmaster to make sure that your working email is listed!

Members have enjoyed a variety of different meals, repasts and activities at our meetings at a variety of venues. It is always an informal gathering, wherein we enjoy the fellowship of our members, occasional guests, and discuss items of mutual interest while having fun and an opportunity to get together in a social setting. We have enjoyed picnics, catered buffet, potluck, chili dinners, cold cuts, etc. Various members have also provided some special treats. We usually discuss future plans at the meetings and the newsletter and web page provides us with a "heads-up".
For our "catered" activities,
it
really helps (and is often necessary) if we can get an approximate headcount by the Monday
before our meetings for planning purposes. This is often very hard
to do as cops and those in and around law enforcement (especially those
of us that are retired) seem to hate to commit ourselves to anything.
However, as a courtesy, when requested, please
(pretty

person a call or drop an
e-mail
to them
if you can
attend. We hope to always see you there.

In addition to hosting visiting members from other countries, and sampling a wide variety of international cuisine in addition to holding their scheduled monthly meetings in several unique locations, members of the Virginia Patriot Region have participated in a variety of other activities. Some recent events have included trips, tours, and visits to museums and memorials, specialty automobile collections, the Spy Museum in Washington, D.C., a local brewery, a winery, and a monastery. Members have also enjoyed holiday get-togethers, pool parties, cook-outs, and sampling ethnic cuisine at various local establishments.
