Just returned to Hamburg from 4 Days in Heiligenhafen is a Fishing Village located on the Baltic Sea in the far North of Germany in the Schleswig-Holstein Area. I attended a Shantyfest for 4 days. Choirs of Seamen and Women from all over Germany who sing beautiful Sea Chantys gather and perform their Songs of the Sea. On Sunday they entered the Harbour on Tall Masted Ships (10) on Deck singing Sea Chanties.
(Songs of the Sea) Plenty of Good Food, Beer and Obts. Obts is clear cherry Schnappes that will knock you for a loop. I also visited the Water Police Headquarters in Heiligenhafen and I have enclosed some photos of the entire event. Will return to USA on 25 September 2007.
