Message to Region 11 Members
Our last General Meeting on 08/22/07 was the meeting for nominations for Regional Board Officers for the next three years. The venue, Rice & Beans (Brazilian Restaurant) was very gracious and gave everyone 50% off their total bill.
Our next General Meeting is in November at the Clamsters Restaurant in Deerfield Beach. As many of you already know, our General Meetings are also Social Meetings which are scheduled four times a year.
Anyone with suggestions for future general meeting locations would be greatly appreciated and considered. I would recommend that these venues be either in North Broward County or in South Palm Beach County.
The next open social gathering is going to be at the 6th Annual Holiday / Christmas Picnic (see calendar).
The new board will be getting together in October to plan the 2008 Calendar. Anyone with ideas and suggestions are welcome to submit them to me. ALSO – Anyone interested in chairing a committee and getting actively involved in your Region, feel free to contact me and/or any board member. The list of board members is on page 2 of this newsletter.
It has been brought to my attention that Region 11 should have a Chaplain. Anyone interested in this position, please contact me.
I would like to let everyone know that Region 11 developed a web-site around a year ago by our friend, Tom Savoca. Tom has also agreed to update the web-site for us as well. He is also going to assist us in getting our future newsletters sent electronically, which would greatly reduce our operating costs. This should be in effect for the Jan/Feb 2008 newsletter.
I am proud to say that the current membership for Region 11 is up to 227 members. I am hoping to achieve the goal of 300 members by the year 2008.
