Today your guide will meet you at the hotel and take you around Boston. BOSTON HARBOR CRUISE. History, character, sites, stories and more – Boston has it all. Be shown this captivating city from the water. The sightseeing cruises are not only fun, but you'll learn a few things too. Today your guide will give you our famous BOSTON TOUR. Learn about the different districts of the city including the Back Bay where you find so many beautiful brownstones, each with its own unique architectural design. You will also see Beacon Hill, the Boston Common America’s first public park and the Public Garden. You of course can’t miss seeing the Old Statehouse, once headquarters for English governors and later the site where the Declaration of Independence was read to the waiting citizens of Boston.
Included are many other famous sites! (You will NOT go to Paul Revere’s house. It is many blocks of walking to the house as buses can’t get in there.)
A visit inside OLD NORTH CHURCH is included. This is the site where Robert Newman climbed the steeple to hang the two lanterns which were the signal to Paul Revere. It was the warning that the British were marching upon Lexington and Concord to seize the colonialist’s military stores there. This led to the “shot hear around the world” in Concord and started the American Revolution on that fateful night of April 18, 1775. The Church was built in 1723 and is the oldest church in the Boston, is still in operation and has an active congregation.
Visit the USS CONSTITUTION OLD IRONSIDES TOUR. “Located in the Charlestown Navy Yard, the USS Constitution was launched in Boston on October 21st, 1797 and is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. Today, she is manned by an active duty U.S. Navy Crew. The USS Constitution Museum, a private, non-profit museum, includes a theatre, historical artifacts, interactive exhibits and a gift shop. The Museum brings the USS Constitution’s tale alive by collecting, preserving and displaying over 3,000 original artifacts. USS CONSTITUTION MUSEUM located by the ship in the Charlestown Navy Yard is available to your group to visit after they see/tour the ship.
A visit to Boston isn’t complete without a stop at CHEERS. Visit the site which was the inspiration for the hit series of the same name. The bar is very different from the television set but get your picture taken out front which looks exactly as the steps leading into this famed bar. This evening you will stop for Dinner time on your own before you visit Harvard Square and return to your hotel.
